I know buying spy phone software is not easy.
You have to not only worry about the thought of installing software on your target’s cell phone, but you have to do it within a time period when you have access to their phone, hope that you even bought the right product, and cross your fingers that nothing will go wrong during installation.
If you are thinking of buying spy phone software, but really need a few QUICK answers to your questions, then check out the best spy phone forum site on the net. :)
I say that with a smile because it’s a site I set up last year, but you will find lots of great information there. More than 2000 members, almost 500 posts and close to 200 threads. It’s currently the only discussion forum that is 100% focused on the spy phone industry.
Most of the questions are being asked in the 2010 Spy Phone Q & A section, but you’ll also find categorie set up for specific phone types such as Android, BlackBerry, Nokia/Symbian, Windows Mobile. There is also sections for new product announcements, articles on spy phone software, spy phone scams, and each product such as Flexispy, Mobile Spy, MobiSteath, E-Stealth has its own area to read what others are saying.
If you have questions that you want answered right away, I urge you to explore the spy phone forums, and most likely you’ll find the answer.

iPhone Spy App For Any Budget | Cheap iPhone Spy Apps
By · Comments$350 bucks.
That’s how much it will cost to get your hands on the top of the line iPhone spy app sold by Flexispy. Now for most people, dropping $350 bucks on a cell phone app is a bit out of their budget. So what options are available if you don’t have much money to spend, but really need to get your hands on an iPhone spy app?
Not many people realize that there are a few low cost spy apps available for the iPhone, but the apps are not advertised as a “spy product” or they’re just sort of flying under the radar. I’ve looked around, and have put together a list of the top low cost iPhone spy apps that are anywhere from FREE to $50 bucks.
If you’re looking for a low cost way to spy on an iPhone, I’m sure you’ll find something here that will do the trick.
By the way, If you know of any other low cost iPhone spy apps that are not on this list, send me an email or leave a comment, and I’ll be sure to add it to this list in a future update.
IPHONE SPY APPS FOR ANY BUDGET
LESS THAN A BUCK
FIND MY IPHONE (part of Apple’s MobileMe service)

HOW MUCH? FREE for the first 60 days, then $99 per year after. Although not really FREE, the fact that you get a 60 day trial without putting up any cash, is sort of FREE in my book. :)
WHAT IS IT & DOES IT DO? ‘Find My iPhone’ is advertised as a service for an iPhone owner to locate their lost or stolen iPhone. Although advertised as a tool to track your iPhone, it’s also a great tool for anyone who wants to secretly track someone using an iPhone. Similar to most spy apps, you do need access to your target’s iPhone, but once you set it up, you can instantly get updates on their location via your online MobileMe account. You’ll also get to see the contacts they have stored on their phone, so you know who they are calling. It doesn’t list any call data, text messages, or provide any other insight, but it does a fantastic job at tracking the iPhone user.
To get started, all you need to do is sign up for a Mobile Me account by taking advantage of their free 60 day trial, and then set it up on the iPhone you want to track. Once you do set it up, you’ll find the tracking details almost identical to the tracking details provided by iPhone spy apps sold by Flexispy and Mobile Spy.
Here is an actual screenshot from inside a Mobile Me account.

As you can see from the screenshot above, you get a nice arial view with the ability to further zoom in or out. You can also select between a map or satellite view. What I like most about this service compared to the other iPhone tracking apps sold via the app store, is that you don’t need to request permission from the iPhone user every time you want to locate them.
Bottom line, this is a great iPhone tracking service that can provide you a fantastic way to track an iPhone. Way to go Apple.

SECURITY CAM

HOW MUCH? $0.99 cents
WHAT IS IT & DOES IT DO? The Security Cam app is sold via the app store and what it does is essentially turns an iPhone into your very own personal spy cam. The way this iPhone spy app works, is that it enables you to snap photos based on various triggers. For example, you can set it to snap a photo when a certain audio trigger is tripped. Other features include a countdown timer that snaps a photo when time expires, and the ability to add a date/time stamp to the photos. Keep in mind that this app is installed on YOUR iPhone. It’s not a traditional iPhone spy app that will enable you to spy on an iPhone user, but it does have spy capabilities since you can set it up to secretly spy on a room (as shown in the pics below), or any other setting where you want to keep an eye on whats going on.
Here is an actual screen shot of the app.

CONTACT SPY

HOW MUCH? $0.99 cents
WHAT IS IT & DOES IT DO? Contact Spy is an online ‘reverse people look up’ app for the iPhone. The way it works, is it provides you a way to quickly search for more details of anyone on your own personal contact list. Information Contact Spy will look for include the following:
- Web sites that mention and/or refer to your contact.
- Images that match your contact’s name.
- News of your contact.
- Blogs that mention your contact’s name.
- Addresses (US only) of your contact.
I realize this is not really an iPhone spy apps, but in a way it is because Contact Spy is giving you a way to easily investigate someone you might meet at a networking event, or similar function.
Here is a screen shot.

LESS THAN $5 BUCKS
NIGHT RECORDER

HOW MUCH? $2.99
WHAT IS IT & DOES IT DO? Besides having probably the coolest user interface I’ve seen on an iPhone spy app, Night Recorder is advertised as an app to help treat Parasomnia, by recording the sounds you make while you are asleep. The way this app works, is by using adjustable audio triggers to start a recording. This means you can leave your iPhone somewhere, such as:
- Under the car seat of the person you want to monitor.
- In a room while you go to the bathroom, in order to hear what is said while you are no in the room.
- Under your partner’s bed if you want to see what happens when you are not around.
The possibilities of using this app as an iPhone spy app are really only limited by your own imagination, and at only $2.99, it’s a great deal.
Features include being able to adjust the sensitivity of the mic, transfer your files via WiFi, and an option to have new audio files every time a new recording takes place, or make one continuous recording.
Check out the screen shots below.

LESS THAN $50 BUCKS
MOBILE SPY

How Much? $49.97 (3 month license)
WHAT IS IT & DOES IT DO? Mobile Spy was the first company to sell spy software built exclusively for the iPhone. It’s a great entry level iPhone spy app that has a great set of spy features, which should be more than enough for anyone who wants to spy on an iPhone.
Features include the following:
- View Call Logs – Each incoming and outgoing number is logged along with duration and time stamp.
- Secretly Read Text Messages - Every text message is logged even if the phone’s logs are deleted. Includes full text.
- iPhone GPS Tracking – GPS postions are uploaded every thirty minutes with a link to a map.
- Browser History – Every website visited in Safari will be recorded into a list inside your account.
All of this for only a bit shy of $50 bucks. In my opinion, this is great value for the money. It’s not the best product in terms of features, but for anyone with a limited budget and who doesn’t need any of the more advanced spy features found on Flexispy’s PRO-X (such as live call tapping & remote room monitoring), then it’s a good deal.
By the way, in order to install Mobile Spy (or Flexispy), you will need to jailbreak/unlock the iPhone. There is no way to install it without first jailbreaking/unlocking the iPhone. If you think you will not be able to do this, or perhaps you are worried the owner of the iPhone will notice, then don’t buy this iPhone spy app. Flexispy does a real good job hiding the fact that the phone has been jailbroken, but the bottom line is that the phone will be jailbroken, so keep this in mind when shopping for iPhone spy apps.
Here is a snapshot of how the user account looks when looking up the iPhone’s location history. If you click on the ‘view map’ link, you’ll be taken to Google Maps, to see where the GPS coordinates are on a map.

DON’T FORGET
One thing to point out, both the Find My iPhone & Mobile Spy app require physical access to the iPhone in order to install the software. This means also being able to bypass the PIN code if the user has one protecting their iPhone. There is no way to install either app without physical access to the phone.
The other apps are installed on YOUR iPhone, so there isn’t any restrictions you are going to be faced with.
Remember, if you know of any other iPhone apy apps that should be included in this list, email me or leave a comment, and I’ll add it to this list in a future update.
Thanks for reading!

MobiStealth PRO-X Now Supports CDMA (Sprint & Verizon)
By · Comments************************
UPDATE> FEB 20, 2010: I want to clarify my previous post about MobiStealth working on CDMA networks. It seems I might have caused a bit of confusion, so please read this update.
My announcement that MobiStealth PRO-X now supporting CDMA networks such as Verizon and Sprint is valid, BUT so far it’s only been confirmed on both the HTC Hero and HTC Eris phones. No other Android phones have been tested yet other than the Droid (which is still causing a few problems), so if you are buying MobiStealth PRO-X because it now works on CDMA networks, DO NOT buy it if your target does not have either the HTC Hero or Eris phones. As soon as additional phones are supported (such as the Droid), I’ll post another update.
************************
I got a bit of interesting news today. It seems that MobiStealth’s top of the line PRO-X Android spy product, now supports phones that are on CDMA networks such as Verizon & Sprint.
Prior to this announcement, if you wanted to use the call recording feature found on MobiStealth’s PRO-X version, it would only work on Android phones that are on GSM networks. This announcement is great news for anyone wanting to listen to recordings of their target’s phone calls, but it’s also great for MobiStealth as a company, since no other spy phone vendor has a call recording or call intercept feature that works on CDMA networks. MobiStealth is the first to offer such feature.
Now one thing to point out is that not all Android phones are supported. For some reason, the DROID is having slight issues with it, but so far it’s been tested rigorously on the HTC Hero and HTC Eris phones. I’m sure it’s just a matter of days before we’ll see support for the Droid and other phones.

Spy Phone Tip > How To Do A Quick Phone Check
By · Comments
Determining if your target’s cell phone will support the installation of spy phone software, should be one of the first things you do prior to purchasing. It’s easy to spot an iPhone or BlackBerry, but what should you do when you have absolutely no idea if your target’s cell phone is running Android, Symbian, or Windows Mobile? To find out if your target’s cell phone is supported, here are a couple QUICK and EASY options.
OPTION #1: Go to the spy phone vendor’s website and see if your target’s cell phone is listed. Check for a tab or link on their website that says Supported Phones, Compatibility or something similar. The three main spy phone vendors Flexispy, Mobile Spy, & MobiStealth all have pictures of each supported phone type, so they do make it easy.
Using this option is great if your target has a phone that’s been on the market for a while, but if they have a cell phone that’s just hit the market, you probably won’t see it listed on the vendor’s website. This is where Option #2 comes in.
OPTION #2: Do a quick online search yourself and find out right away. Performing a search on your own is actually quite easy if you know where to go. My favorite resource to check on phone compatibility is CNET Reviews. When readers email me wanting to know if a specific phone is compatible, I’ll always reply back with a link to a review from CNET. Just follow these three easy steps.
1) Go to http://reviews.cnet.com and do a search for the phone.

2) Look for your phone within the search results, and then click on the one that best matches your search query. Once the review page loads, you’ll see a series of small tabs. What you’ll want to do is click on the ‘Specifications’ tab as shown below.

3) Now scroll down and look for the ‘Communicator Features’ section. If you see either Google Android, Symbian OS, or Windows Mobile, then you’ll be able to install spy phone software on your target’s cell phone.

Just remember that not all vendors support all OS types. Here is a quick summary of each company, and what they support.
FLEXISPY – BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian, & Windows Mobile
MOBILE SPY – Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian, & Windows Mobile
MOBISTEALTH - Android
In a perfect world, the best thing to do would be to do a quick search as described above and verify that your target’s cell phone is supported. Then just to be 100% sure, send an email to the spy phone vendor and ask them to confirm that the phone is supported. There could be a legitimate reason why a specific cell phone is not listed on their site as a supported phone. In probably 9 out of 10 times, if you see that your target’s cell phone is running a supported OS, you wont have any problems installing spy phone software, but it’s always good to double check.
Have fun,

One thing that surprises me, is how many people still have a Motorola RAZR. I think I must get at least 2-3 emails a day from people who want to know how to spy on a Motorola RAZR cell phone. I know at one point, the Motorola RAZR was the #1 selling cell phone in the US, but it just surprises me that so many people still use it. This post is for all the people who want to know if its possible to spy on a Motorola RAZR.
If you want to spy on a Motorola RAZR cell phone, I have good news and bad news. Let’s start with the bad news first.
BAD NEWS
The bad news is that you cannot purchase spy phone software that will work on a Motorola RAZR.
The only apps you can install on a RAZR are Java apps that must be turned on everytime you want to use them. There is no way to silently start a Java app without the user knowing, and more importantly keep it running in the background. Smart phones such as an iPhone or BlackBerry dont have this problem, because a smart phone has an operating system that enables developers to create applications that can automatically start up when the phone is turned on, and also run silently in the background. The best example is to think of your PC. When you start it up, there are numerous programs that also start up behind the scenes. You are not required to physical turn on each driver, program, etc.
In a nutshell, this is why spy phone software for the Motorola RAZR doesn’t exist. If Motorola releases a future version of the RAZR running Android or Symbian, then commercial spy software sold by companies such as Flexispy & Mobile Spy will work. Until that day arrives, you’ll have to look for another way to spy on a Motorola RAZR.
GOOD NEWS
Even though there is not a way to install spy phone software on a Motorola RAZR, you do have options if you want to secretly read deleted text messages, or view deleted call logs. What you need to do is purchase a SIM card spy tool. The most popular SIM card spy tool is a product called Cell Phone Spy Elite, and is sold by Brick House Security. The Cell Phone Spy Elite device is about the size of a standard USB drive and is advertised as #1 SIM Recovery Tool Trusted By Private Investigators ?For Deep Forensic Analysis Of SIM Cards and Smart Cards.
Here is an overview of how it works.

As you can see, its pretty easy. You just remove the SIM card from the Motorola RAZR, and place the SIM card into the SIM card reader. Now you insert the SIM card reader into the USB port of a computer and you are able to read deleted text messages, call logs, and other information stored on both the SIM card and the RAZR’s memory card.
The price of Cell Phone Spy Elite is $199.95, but there is a $25 discount currently being offered on BrickHouse’s website.
Before you rush out to purchase Cell Phone Spy Elite, I do want to let you know that this product WILL NOT work any cell phones that do not have a SIM card, no phones running on the Verizon network, the iPhone, or BlackBerry.

I continue to get a lot of emails from people who want to know if it’s possible to install spy phone software without ever getting their hands on the person’s cell phone that you want to spy on. I’ve discussed this in the past, but I want to bring it up again because it’s still a question that is asked several times a day.
The quick & easy answer is a big “NO!”
There is absolutely no way to install spy phone software sold by the two leading spy phone vendors, Mobile Spy & Flexispy, because you must install the software directly on the target’s cell phone.
Now this of course does not include hackers and legitimate scams out there that attempt to install Trojans, or games you download that have a backdoor to send out usage data. I’m only talking about commercial spy phone software that you can purchase online. Although technically possible, offering remote installation opens up the possibilities for a plethora of abuse. It’s just not worth it. I’ve personally spoken to the owners of both Flexispy & Mobile Spy, and both are in agreement on this.
Installing spy phone software is not difficult if you follow the spy phone vendor’s instructions. Both have detailed steps with screenshots to help you every step of the way.
Here is a quick overview of the basic steps.
- You find a way to get your hands on the target’s cell phone.
- Then you fire up the cell’s web browser,
- Enter the URL provided to you by the spy phone vendor.
- Download the software, install, & configure.
As you can see, when you take a few steps back, installation is not difficult. However, without physical access to the cell phone, none of the above steps is possible.
Many people ask me how long it will take & if installation is difficult. This is really a tough question to answer. Total installation time should take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, but it really depends on your experience level with using cell phone applications, mobile web browser, etc.
One thing I do advise people is that before you even think about installing spy phone software, take time to go through each step and make sure you understand what each step says to do. If not, send the spy phone software vendor a quick email and ask them to clarify. It will be a lot less stressful if you thoroughly understand each step. It’s also wise to have a story or excuse in mind if you were to get caught during installation. A quick “I’m downloading a special ringtone.” will do wonders to ease any suspicion the other person might have. I would even go as far to recommend downloading a ringtone or game first. This does two things for you. 1) It gives you a bit of experience downloading something, and navigating the cell phone a bit to install. 2) If you do run into problems and/or get caught during installation, you can show them what you were doing.
The good news is that once you do install the software, there should not be any reason to get access to their phone again. In fact, Flexispy has a cool SMS remote control feature that enables you to control a variety of settings — including removing the spy software.
So what should you do if you cannot get physical access to the target phone? Definitely don’t waste your money on spy phone software. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I know there are few sites out there claiming that you can remotely install spy phone software for all cell phones such as Android, BlackBerry, or iPhone using technologies such as Bluetooth. Do not believe what they advertise. If you do, its your loss. I’ve received countless emails from people who’ve purchase bluetooth spy software because they were told having access to the target phone was not necessary. Unfortunately, this is a big lie. Even if those bluetooth spy products worked, you’d still need access to target phone to “pair” the two devices. This is after you are lucky enough to ever get the software to work.
Bottom line, without physical access to the cell phone, there is absolutely no way you are going to get spy phone software on it.
If you can’t get physical access, what are your options?
You can do any of the following:
1) Ringtones, Games, & Wallpaper. Find a way to get access to your target’s BlackBerry so you can install the spy phone directly on the phone. Tell your target that there is a cool new game you want to download for them, or a ringtone, wallpaper, etc. You can also tell them that you need to use their phone because your battery is low, then take a quick bathroom break or something similar where you can be alone for a bit. Remember, by now you should have studied the installation instructions so you know exactly what to do. Perhaps even print out a cheat sheet that you created.
2) Great Gift Idea. I know this sounds a bit overboard, but if you’re concerned that your spouse might be cheating on you, investing in the latest iPhone, BlackBerry, or Android phone will be worth the money if this is the only way for you to get a spy phone in your target’s hands. New models of cell phones come out all the time, just look at all the recent hype surrounding the Motorola Droid & Google’s Nexus One. Buying a new cell phone would be a perfect way for you to take all the time you need to install the spy software, configure, test it, etc. and then give to your target as a gift. Valentines day is fast approaching. hint hint
3) Look For Alternate Ways. For example, what two technology items are most used today? I’d say cell phones and computers. If you can’t get access to one, go for the other one and purchase PC spy software. Any google search for “PC Spy Software” will turn up at least 40-50 different PC Spy vendors. My personal favorite is Sniper Spy, because it has a cool live monitoring feature and by the way, it also has a remote installation feature. If you purchase an annual license to Mobile Spy’s software, they will throw in a free license to Sniper Spy. This will get you both spy phone & PC spy software for a tad under $100 bucks. You can start with the PC spy software, then go for the cell phone spy software once you are able to get your hands on their phone. I’ve looked at numerous other PC spy software vendors such as SpectorSoft & WebWatcher, but none give you Live PC Monitoring that Sniper Spy does.
Other options include Google’s Latitude application which allows you to track the movements of a person using Google Maps. However, they will have to ‘opt in’ to being tracked, so if you want to do this secretly, there is always GPS tracking devices you can place on (or in) their car. Just do a Google search for GPS tracking devices and you’ll see hundreds listed. You can also find out who they call most often via looking at their cell phone records (if you have access to them), and then do a reverse phone look up using many of the reverse phone look up services, such as Cell Phone Snoop.
Now you know, that no matter what you read online, there is absolutely no way to remotely install spy phone software, but at least there are numerous other options you have at your disposal to come up with a way to get your hands on your target’s phone, or perhaps use an alternative method to spy on your target.
If you have any questions, be sure to send me an Email.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s time again for my predictions of what spy phone products we could see in 2010. Some of the products and spy phone features are definitely on the way, and others I’ve only heard “whispers” about from various sources, while some are just wild guesses on my part.
TOP 5 THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN 2010
1) MORE ANDROID SPY APPS

More Android spy software will hit the market in 2010. By the middle of this year, we’ll have at least 3-4 different spy phone vendors selling Android spy software. As the popularity of Android devices continue to increase, more spy phone vendors will rush out to create Android spy apps. I’ve already come across one new Android spy phone product that I’m currently reviewing, and more are on the way. Another thing causing a lot of buzz is the recent release of Google’s Nexus One phone. If Google puts some of their billions into a massive online marketing campaign, we could see an insane number of people using the Nexus One phone, which means a lot of people will be looking for Nexus One spy apps. This will be yet another incentive for more companies to create Android spy apps.
2) BLACKBERRY MESSENGER SPY SOFTWARE

A release date on this has not been confirmed by anyone yet, but I know several companies are looking into a way to spy on BlackBerry messenger conversations. As any BlackBerry addict knows, using BlackBerry messenger to chat with people is one of the most addicting features of a BlackBerry. Current BlackBerry spy phone software enables you to do just about anything, EXCEPT spy on BlackBerry messenger conversations. If spying on BlackBerry messenger conversations is found out to be technically possible, I’m predicting we’ll see this spy feature released this year.
3) PALM SPY APPS

Although I personally don’t think we’ll see any spy apps for Palm devices, the Palm Pre and other phones Palm is planning to release in 2010 could create enough users that might motivate a spy phone developer to create Palm spy phone software. A few people in the industry have mentioned it, but nothing has been confirmed. When I look at my web stats on how people find my blog, I do see a lot of ‘Palm Pre spy apps’ searches, which means people are definitely interested in spy software for Palm cell phones. However, I don’t think the market is big enough yet for the investment required to develop spy phone software for Palm devices.
4) PARENTS TRACKING THEIR CHILDREN.

As spy phone software becomes more mainstream, I feel this year we will start to see a lot more spy phone apps built exclusively for parents who want to monitor their kids cell phone use. Although existing spy phone apps do target concerned parents, the software is not really built exclusively for parents. The software is still hidden and there are not any features that are built for parents who want to protect their kids. Being alerted when your children go out of a “safe zone” (that you created via an online map) or possibly a feature where kids can silently trigger an alarm that secretly notifies their parents and police, are just a few of the features I feel parents would want. I understand that there are companies out there that target software to protect kids, but they don’t do a good enough job. Their pricing structure (most charge a monthly fee, which is a rip off), the way you sign up for their services, cell phones supported, features, etc. are just some of the problems with the existing companies. In 2010, things will change, and we should start to see a lot more companies enter this space.
5) BLUETOOTH SPY SOFTWARE & OTHER SPY PHONE SCAMS

It’s no secret. I’m not a fan of bluetooth spy software. If the it worked as advertised, then I think it would be a fantastic product. Who wouldn’t want a bluetooth spy phone product that had no range limitation, didn’t require that you “pair” the devices, and is used by the CIA and FBI. Unfortunately, the software doesn’t work, but one thing it does do well is piss off a lot of people who purchase it and find out that not only does it not work as advertised, but they can’t get their money back. I know that this year we’ll continue to see people purchase this type of software, and that means we’ll continue to see even more people who start to believe the entire spy phone industry is a scam, and that none of the products work. Every software will have problems, but in more than 90% of the cases, spy phone software sold by the industry leaders work as advertised, unlike the bluetooth spy software that simply does not work ad advertised on their websites. Another problem we’ll see in 2010, is the increased amount of spy phone scams. Last year we saw the MMS Phone Interceptor, and this year I’m sure we’ll see a few more.
That’s about it for now. Once I get more information on any of the above new spy phone software products, I’ll write more detailed reviews.
Once again, Happy New Year!

2009 Year In Review | The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
By · Comments
FLASHBACK AND WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2010
Not sure how you felt, but 2009 went by real fast. Feels like just yesterday, I was celebrating the dawn of 2009. Lots of exciting stuff occurred in the spy phone industry last year. Spy phone vendors continued to release updates to their software, new features were added, new phone types were supported, and we even saw a new spy phone scam hit the market. Overall, it was a good year for the industry, and 2010 looks to be even better.
Before I get into my 2009 year end review, I’d like to give everyone a bit of insight into what changes will occur with this blog.
I initially created this blog to provide a place where spy phone news and reviews could be reported. I started to report on the spy phone industry in early 2006 via mostly on forums and a small Squidoo lens I set up. I decided that I wanted my own place to hang out and report on the spy phone industry, so that led me to launch this site. This was in December of 2008, and back then the spy phone industry was still under the radar, so there were not so many people looking for spy phone software. However, in the past year, the buzz has taken off and now it seems spy phone software has hit the mainstream press, so awareness has sky rocketed.
With more people looking for spy phone software, I realized last year that instead of reporting only on spy phone news, what people are really after is more information on how to purchase spy phone software, spy phone reviews, and just overall information on how the stuff works. I receive almost 100 emails a day now from people around the world, and the majority of these emails are asking for assistance, advice, etc. This means that what this site is lacking, is information to help people make the right purchase decision, and of course not get scammed in the process.
With that being said, what I plan to do this year is the following:
1) More “How To” information. You’ll start to see more posts that are focused on commonly asked questions I’m seeing in emails and forum posts. I’ll still of course report on new products, but I’ll definitely start to add in more “how to” information.
2) More frequent posts. I’m going to do my best to write a new blog post every Monday & Friday. Most likely, I’ll have posts mixed in during the week when specific news hits, but at least there will now be a set schedule on when new posts will occur.
3) You’ll start to see more Q & A categories. Right now, there is a single ‘Spy Phone Q & A’ section that you can access via the top header. This will still be a place where you can see all the Q & A posts, but I’ll now have additional categories that allow you to filter down to a specific phone type such as iPhone, BlackBerry, etc. In addition, I’ll have categories such as Installation Q & A, Set Up Q & A, etc.
4) More spy phone reviews. Another big improvement will be the addition of more reviews. I set up a site called Cell Spy Reviews a month ago where people can post their own experience using spy phone software. So far the feedback has been very positive, which means there is a demand for reviews on various spy phone products.
5) I’ll start to reply to more emails, forums posts, and comments. I currently dedicate 10 hours a week to emails and forum posts, but I’ve realized that I need to double this if I’m ever going to be able to get back to everyone.
Thank you for being a reader and for the trust you’ve placed in me as your resource for spy phone software news and information. Hope you have a great 2010.

2009 YEAR IN REVIEW: THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY
Lets get started!
THE GOOD!
Lots of good stuff happened last year. Here are a few of the top stories that kept the spy phone industry buzzing.
1) Flexispy Released PRO-X For iPhone & BlackBerry. Flexispy PRO-X is Flexispy’s top of the line spy phone software. What makes this version of Flexispy so unique, is the Call Intercept feature that is exclusive to Flexispy. Using Flexispy PRO-X, you can listen in on live calls as they occur. No more reading text messages & emails to figure out what is really going on. Using Flexispy PRO-X, you can listen in on live calls, so you’ll hear the actual conversations as they occur. This version was only available for Windows Mobile & Symbian cell phones, but Flexispy released support for BlackBerry & iPhone in the middle to end of last year.

2) Android Spy Software Hits The Market. Last year some of the most talked about cell phones were running on Google’s new Android OS. Motorola Droid, HTC Dream, HTC Magic, HTC Hero, My Touch 3G, & the Motorola Cliq. Mobile Spy beat everyone to the market with the world’s first spy phone software for Android based cell phones. Starting at only $49.97, Mobile Spy’s Android software offered all the must have spy phone features such as text message interception, viewing call logs (incoming & outgoing), and stealth GPS tracking. Their timing was fantastic, because their announcement came when Motorola was going nuts promoting their new Droid cell phone with a ‘Droid Does’ campaign. This gave me a great opportunity to add a bit of humor and create a ‘Droid Does Spying‘ post.

3) Spy Phone Software Becomes More Affordable. Flexispy introduced various pricing options for their iPhone spy software. This made it a lot more affordable versus their old pricing model. In the past they had a single price option of $149, $249, & $349. Towards the end of last year, they decided to reduce some of the functionality for their iPhone version and create a new one called Flexispy Basic, with a price tag of only $39 for a 3 month license. In addition, Mobile Spy introduced a BlackBerry version which brought down the price substantially for someone looking to purchase BlackBerry spy software. Flexispy’s BlackBerry version starts at $149, versus Mobile Spy’s 3 month license price of only $49.97. Great news for anyone on a budget looking for BlackBerry spy software. Perhaps in 2010 we’ll see Flexispy create a Basic version for the BlackBerry as they did for the iPhone.

THE BAD!
Bluetooth Spy Software. E-Stealth, Big Daddy Spy, Phone Stealth, & Cell Spy Pro. These are just some of the companies selling bluetooth spy phone software. The sad thing is that despite repeated warnings by me and a lot of their customers, bluetooth spy software continues to sell in record numbers. I continue to get emails every single day from people absolutely pissed off that the software does not work. The sad thing is that a simple search on Google would uncover numerous complaints. Perhaps this is just one of those situations where people want to believe in something so much that despite all the warnings signs, they still proceed with it. The ads for bluetooth spy software try to tap into people’s desire to have features that traditional spy phone software does not have such as not having to access or install anything on the target phone. I have yet to come across a single email from someone who has said anything positive about these products. To top it off, the software being sold is available free on the internet because it was originally developed as a proof of concept to showcase the vulnerability of bluetooth devices, which has now been fixed.

Additional Information:
THE UGLY
Spy Phone Scams. I was torn between putting bluetooth spy software in the ‘Ugly’ category, but decided to crown the ‘MMS Phone Interceptor‘ as the ultimate worst product of 2009. This scam must have hit a lot of people because anti virus company Symantec reported in their ‘August 2009 State Of Spam’ report that this spy phone scam has quickly become one of the top threats of 2009. The product is being marketed via email (spam) and other online / offline channels. The way it works is you send the company money for their spy phone product which requires no installation on a target phone (sound familiar??), only just your own cell phone. Once you install the software, it starts to collect YOUR data versus the target device that you intended to spy on. If you come across this product, stay far away from it.

I get a lot of emails from people asking me about BlackBerry spy software. Out of all these emails, I’d say roughly 75% ask specifically about how to spy on a BlackBerry Curve. I knew the Curve was a popular model, but I didn’t realize it was the top selling consumer phone in the US until I read a recent report published on November 25th.
According to research firm NPD Group, the BlackBerry Curve was the #1 consumer smart phone in the U.S. The iPhone 3GS and 3G took second and third place. Although this #1 ranking was due largely to a 2 for 1 promotion Verizon had, this report explains why so many people are interested in BlackBerry Curve spy software.
The good news is that for anyone who is looking for BlackBerry Curve spy software (or spy software for any other BlackBerry phone), a few options do exist using BlackBerry spy software.
BlackBerry spy software is an application that is installed directly into the BlackBerry phone you intend to monitor. Once installed, the BlackBerry spy software secretly records specific BlackBerry events such as the sending or receiving of text messages messages, email, etc. The events are then uploaded to a secure online web account where you can log in via any internet connected device that has a web browser.
Despite what you might see advertised around the web, only two spy phone vendors are currently selling BlackBerry spy software. Here is a little information about each company and their BlackBerry spy product.
1) FLEXISPY BLACKBERRY SOFTWARE (PRO-X)
Flexispy’s PRO-X BlackBerry spy software is the most advanced BlackBerry spy software available anywhere. Anyone willing to part ways with $350 USD, can get BlackBerry Curve spy software which will enable them to secretly read text messages, emails, view the phone’s call history, track their location via GPS, remotely monitor their surroundings, and listen to live phone calls. Flexispy PRO-X is definitely worth the money if you think you’ll need all these features.
Everyone has their own reason for wanting to purchase spy phone software, some want to spy on their spouse, monitor their children’s cell phone use, employers might want to monitor their employees, or perhaps someone might want to use BlackBerry spy software as a personal back up solution. If you analyze your situation and you feel that having the ability to secretly listen in on live calls or listen in on the BlackBerry’s surroundings is a must have feature, then without a doubt go with Flexispy. Whenever someone asks me which BlackBerry spy software I personally recommend, I always say, “Flexispy!, if you are not on a budget.” If you are on a budget, or don’t need all the features Flexispy’s PRO-X has, then check out the second option below.
- Product: Flexispy PRO-X
- Spy Phone Features: Live call interception, remote monitoring, text message interception, view call logs, stealth GPS tracking, & 100% undetectable.
- Guarantee: 10 day money back guarantee.
- Price: $349 USD

2) MOBILE SPY BLACKBERRY SPY SOFTWARE
Mobile Spy is a new player in the BlackBerry spy world, but they are not new to the spy phone industry. Mobile Spy was the first spy phone company to release both iPhone & Android spy software, so they definitely know what they are doing. Mobile Spy’s BlackBerry spy software does not have all the features as Flexispy’s PRO-X, but it does offer all the standard spy features that should be enough for most situations.
Mobile Spy ’s BlackBerry spy software enables someone to secretly read text messages, call logs, & has stealth GPS tracking. They do not currently support live call interception, remote monitoring, or email logging, but it’s a lot more affordable compared to Flexispy. Mobile Spy has an option to get started for only $49.97 USD, which will give you a three month license. Remember, it’s up to you to decide what your budget is and what spy features you need, before making a decision on which BlackBerry spy software to buy.
- Product: Mobile Spy BlackBerry
- Spy Phone Features: Stealth GPS tracking, text message interception, & view call logs.
- Guarantee: 10 day money back guarantee.30 day money back guarantee. (If they can’t get the the software to work on your phone.)
- Price: $49.97 USD (3 month license) or $99.97 USD (1 year license)

IMPORTANT! -> If you purchase BlackBerry spy software (Flexispy or Mobile Spy), you MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE BLACKBERRY CELL PHONE! There is no way to install BlackBerry spy software if you cannot get physical access to the BlackBerry cell phone that you intend to spy on. If you cannot get access to the BlackBerry cell phone, here are a couple suggestions.
1) Buy A New BlackBerry. The easiest way to make sure you successfully install spy software on a BlackBerry Curve or any other BlackBerry cell phone, is to purchase a new BlackBerry phone (Christmas is right around the corner!), take the time to install the spy software, configure it, test it, and then give the BlackBerry cell phone to your target (person you want to spy on/monitor) as a gift.
2) Use Reverse Cell Phone Look Up Services. If you only have a minute alone with the cell phone, which is not enough time to download the spy software, install it, and configure it, then you can always quickly glance down and look to see which numbers are called the most during odd hours of the day. Now take this number and enter it in any of the reverse cell phone look up services to get information on who this person is. If the number is a land line, you can do a reverse look up free of charge, but if it’s a cell phone, you’ll have to pay anywhere from $4.95 -$14.95 per search. You can try Cell Phone Snoop (www.cellphonesnoop.com), Intellius (www.intellius.com), or just type in ‘Reverse cell phone look up service’ in Google, Bing, Yahoo, or whatever search engine you use.
Before I end this blog post, I want to add a few common BlackBerry spy phone questions that are often asked.
Q: Can I spy on BlackBerry messenger conversations?
SPG: No. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to monitor BlackBerry messenger conversations. There is a way to technically do this, by creating a fake BlackBerry messenger app. Essentially you trick the user into using a custom made app that has the same look and feel as the real BlackBerry messenger. However, the one they are using actually was created by the spy phone vendor, so it records all the conversations that occur. To create this would take a lot of work, and I’m not sure if either Flexispy or Mobile Spy are willing to invest the time and resources into this.
Q: My husband/wife always keeps their BlackBerry Curve locked, and I don’t know the passcode. Can I install BB spy software even though their BlackBerry Curve is locked?
SPG: No. You need to get full access to the BlackBerry cell phone. In order to install the software, you’ll need to use the phone’s internet browser and type in a URL given to you by the spy phone vendor. This will then start a download of the spy software. Once you have downloaded the software, you’ll have to install and configure it. The entire process will take anywhere from 5-30 minutes, depending on your experience with BlackBerry applications. The good news is that once you install the BlackBerry spy software, you’ll not have to touch the BlackBerry phone again. However, if you can’t get past the initial phone lock, you’ll never be able to install the BlackBerry spy software.
Q: What type of phone do I need to have in order to spy on a BlackBerry?
SPG: You don’t even need a cell phone to spy on a BlackBerry. The reason is that the BlackBerry spy software is installed on the BlackBerry of the person you want to spy on. The only thing you need is access to a PC that has an Internet Browser, so you can access your online account, and view the data that was recorded on your target’s BlackBerry device.

Today Dell announced their plans to enter the smartphone market. It seems they are going to start in China, then later into Brazil and other parts of the world. No word yet on US launch dates.
Their initial cell phone will be the Dell Mini 3, which will run on the Android OS. As you probably are aware, Mobile Spy recently announced that their popular spy phone software will now support Android cell phones. This means when Dell does finally decide to release their cell phones stateside, you’ll easily be able to turn a Dell smartphone, into a Dell spy phone.
I can envision a day when employees who would currently receive a standard Dell laptop, will now get a Dell laptop AND Dell cell phone. This can open up a lot of opportunities for employers to easily monitor all employee communication on company provided devices. I fervently believe that it’s only a matter of time before all company provided cell phones are monitored, much the same way as most company provided PCs and laptops.
Justification for spying on employee cell phone use will most likely be to ensure that employees are using their company provided cell phones for work related activities versus personal activities. Other reasons could be to enforce company compliance policies and to keep logs of employee interactions with customers (text message communication or email) in case of a dispute or company lawsuit.
We are entering interesting times indeed.
