8 Reasons When NOT To Buy Spy Phone Software
Posted by: | Comments
We all have our reasons for wanting to buy spy phone software. Some of us want to catch a cheating spouse, keep track of our kids, or perhaps monitor employee cell phone use. However, before you rush out and spend your hard earned cash on spy phone software, you should make sure it’s the right product for you.
When everything is in place, installing and using spy phone software is a walk in the park. The problems users generally run into are due to little things that they should have researched prior to purchasing the software. Is the phone compatible? Do you have access to the target phone? Is there a data connection? These are just some of the many questions you should be asking yourself BEFORE you whip out your wallet.
Here is a list of the most common reasons when you should NOT buy spy phone software…. some of them are set in stone (such as needing access to the target phone), while others are just suggestions on making things easier… enjoy!
8 REASONS WHEN YOU SHOULD NOT BUY SPY PHONE SOFTWARE
1) NO ACCESS TO TARGET PHONE. Does the target phone (the cell phone you plan on installing the software on) have a PIN code that prevents you from accessing it? Does the person you want to spy on live in another state or country? Does your target guard their phone at all times? If you’ve answered “YES” to any of these, then buying spy phone software will be a waste of time. There is absolutely NO way to install spy phone software without physical access to the target phone. If you can’t get your hands on it, then find another way to spy on them. One suggestion is PC spy software, because most have a way of remotely installing the app.
2) NOT ENOUGH ACCESS TO TARGET PHONE. Getting access to the target phone is only the first step in getting spy phone software installed. The next step is downloading the software, setting it up, and perhaps running a test to make sure its working. This takes time, which means having only a few minutes with the target phone is not enough. I’ve done countless installations on a variety of phones, and I still need at least 5-7 solid minutes. For someone who is less experienced or doing it for their first time, then you’ll need anywhere from 20 – 30 minutes. There are numerous things that can go wrong such as the internet connection dropping out, typing the incorrect download URL, installing the spy app, choosing a correct configuration, going through the phone afterwards to make sure the app is truly hidden, and more. Give yourself time if you want to be 100% sure the spy software is installed. YES, you can download and install spy phone software in 10 minutes if you really have a small window, but in order to do that you need to be prepared, and everything must work flawlessly.
3) NOT SURE THE PHONE TYPE. If you’re not sure the type of phone your target has, then don’t waste your money on spy phone software. It’s easy to differentiate an iPhone or BlackBerry from other phones, but what happens when they are using a Samsung, HTC, Sony, or a phone that you’ve not seen before? Before you spend a single penny on spy phone software, you MUST find out if the target phone is supported. I wrote a post a few months ago which gives tips on determining the phone type. You can read it HERE.
3) NO DATA PLAN. Most of the spy phone software sold requires that the target phone have a data connection in order to transmit the logs. If you’re not sure the target phone has an internet connection, then you need to do a bit more research and find out. Without a data plan, you won’t be able to install the spy phone software because installation requires that you use the phone’s browser to download the spy app. A good way to find out if they are on a data plan, is to borrow their phone (if you can), and open up their browser and try to access a site such as Google, Amazon, etc.. any 3rd party site will do. If you don’t run into any problems, then the phone is on a data plan, and you are good to go.
4) BEWARE OF PRE-PAID. If your target is on a pre-paid SIM, then perhaps you should find another way to monitor them. Since spy phone software requires a data plan to transmit the recorded logs, it will quickly consume your target’s pre-paid credits. There are ways to reduce the amount of data usage by changing the interval settings to only upload the logs once a day, but you still need to closely monitor the situation because someone on a pre-paid will definitely notice if their credits start to quickly disappear. One point to bring up regarding pre-paids, is I know there are some pre-paid plans that now come with a large data plan, so do a bit of research and find out what their plan is.
5) NOT SURE WHAT YOU NEED. Before you buy a spy phone app, make sure you know what you need. Why drop $300 bucks on a spy app, when there is a similar app for only $50 bucks that has all the features you’ll need. Most people end up wishing either they would have spent the extra money on the top of the line spy app in order to get a specific feature they need (such as remote monitoring or live call interception), while others find out they just need the basics, and could have got by with the basic version. I always recommend anyone who is thinking of buying spy phone software that they first write down what exactly they want to do, and what type of evidence and/or records they need in order to accomplish their goal. The worst thing that can happen is you really end up wanting a feature your app doesn’t have, then you end up trying to install another app on top of the app that is already installed. Not only does this require more access to the target phone, but it also could create conflicts with the existing spy app and the new one you are installing. Bottom line, figure out what you want first.
6) SPY PHONE REQUIREMENTS. Another problem users often run into, is that they don’t take time to read the fine print. For example, installing an iPhone spy app requires that the iPhone is jailbroken. Lots of people overlook this and then get disappointed then they find out they have to jailbreak the iPhone. Other common problems are finding out that the LIVE call monitoring feature on their $350 spy app does not work because their target phone is on a CDMA network. Please take the time to find out if the target phone meets all the requirements and/or you completely understand the requirements BEFORE you buy it.
7) SPY PHONE SCAMS. Yes, there are lots of spy phone scams out there. If you see an advertisement for spy phone software that sounds too good to be true, then walk away.. Common things you’ll see is spy phone software not requiring access to the target phone, bluetooth spy software that has unlimited range, spy phone software that works on ANY phone. I honestly get at several emails a day from readers who were ripped off by various fly by night spy phone companies. Don’t believe the hype… These companies know that you need access to the target phone and not all phones are supported, so they use this in their ads to try and sucker people into buying their product. Don’t fall for it. Remember, you need access to the target phone and not all phones are supported. If the product has features nobody else is offering, then it’s probably a scam..
8 ) ILLEGAL IN YOUR AREA. Please please please take the time to first check the laws in your state or country. I’m not a lawyer so I can’t give you any advice, but I know people think it’s ok to install spy phone software on their spouse’s cell phone because they pay the bill — so technically they own it, or perhaps they think its ok to monitor employee cell phone calls on company issued cell phones. However, each state and country has their own interpretation of whats legal or not, so make sure you verify that what you are about to do, won’t get you in legal trouble. If you don’t own the cell phone you are about to install the spy software on, and you have not checked the laws in your area, then I highly recommend you NOT buy spy phone software.

Spy Phone Forum Launched – The #1 resource (soon to be!) for spy phone discussions, tips, news and spy phone reviews is now live!
Just want to share some good news with everyone. Although it’s been a bit quiet lately in the spy phone world, there is a bit of good news.
Today I launched a spy phone forum (www.spyphoneforums.com) dedicated to the spy phone industry. My vision for this spy phone forum is a place where everyone can ask questions, share their spy phone experiences, read about the latest spy phone news and reviews (from not only me, but other customers as well), and just talk about anything spy related.
Another reason for launching this spy phone forum is due to the large number of emails I receive on a daily basis. On average, I get about 75 emails a day from people around the world with various spy phone questions. I’d estimate that more than 75% of the questions are similar to what is being asked every day by others, so by having a forum where people can post their questions and read the replies from myself and other people, will benefit everyone who is looking for spy phone software.
Keep in mind, the forum is a bit empty at the moment, but I’m hoping activity will pick up and will start to become a “go to” resource for everyone in the market for spy phone software.

Enjoy!

Spy Phone Tip #1 – How To Be A Cell Phone Spy Without Buying Spy Phone Software
Posted by: | CommentsSpy Phone Tip #1 – Here are a couple quick and easy ways to be a cell phone spy without buying any spy phone software.

How To View Call & Text Message History Logs – Sign up for online account access with your cell phone provider. Just go to the cell phone provider’s website and create an online account. Some providers such as Verizon & ATT Wireless send out a temporarily password directly to the cell phone, so make sure you check the sign up details. If a text message is sent out, you will have to quickly borrow the cell phone to get the password and delete the message.
Once you have online account access, you will be amazed with the type of information you can retrieve. Complete call logs (incoming & outgoing) with land and cell numbers, text/picture message details such as the sender/recipient cell phone number, time, and date. You can even export all the data to view later. Armed with this information, you’ll be able to quickly figure out if there is any suspicious call activity going on.
How To Find Out Who Owns A Number That You Often See In Call Logs – If you need to find out the owner of a particular phone number (land line or cell phone), it’s a lot easier than you probably think. The internet is flooded with services that will do a reverse phone look up. This means you enter a telephone number, and within seconds you will get details who owns that particular number. Most of the services I’ve used are free for land lines. Unfortunately, to do a reverse cell phone look up requires you to pay, but most services are anywhere between 10-15 bucks per report. The report will provide information such as who owns the cell and their address. Both of these services are a great way to find out who really is the person that your significant other says is calling. Here are a few more details of the type of service that each one provides.
Reverse Look Up (For land lines)
- Usually free
- Phone owner name and current address
- Geographic information (From U.S. Census Bureau; Census 2000)
- Satellite maps
To try it out, go to www.whitepages.com/reverse_phone
Reverse Cell Phone Look Up (For cell phones)
- Not free, but generally not more than $15 USD.
- Phone owner name and current address
- Line type – landline or mobile
- Household members
- Phone company and carrier
- Possible neighbors and relatives
- Issuing location
- Satellite maps
- Other phone numbers belonging to owner
- Owner’s address history
To try it out, go to www.cellphonesnoop.com
You now have a couple ways to get cell phone data without spending any money (or at least very little). By the way, if you have any tips you want to share, send them my way. Have fun.

Spy Phone Q & A #1 > Can You Install Spy Phone Software Remotely?
Posted by: | Comments
This is going to be the first of many Spy Phone Q & A posts I’m going to publish.
Every day, I get a plethora of emails from people all over the world asking very similar spy phone questions. I feel that rather than continue to answer these questions in a private one-on-one email exchange, it would be better to publish the most commonly asked questions on my blog. I’ll still continue to respond to emails, but before you email any spy phone questions, please scan the new ‘Spy Phone Q & A’ category first to see if I’ve already answered your question.
Thanks.
Now lets get started…..
Question #1: Can you install spy phone software remotely? In other words, must I have physical access to the cell phone I want to spy on?
Spyphone Guy: The quick answer is NO. You cannot install spy phone software remotely, and you MUST have physical access to the phone. There is absolutely no way around this.
Not a single spy phone vendor on the market today, is selling any type of spy phone software that has remote installation. I’ve actually spoken to a few of them, and they’ve told me that although it’s technically possible, they would never develop it. There is just too much opportunity for abuse. Not to mention the legal ramifications that a spy phone vendor would incur.
Currently, most spy phone vendors walk a fine legal tightrope between between selling spy phone software for personal use, and breaking privacy laws of most countries. They get around this by advertising spy phone software as a way to back up your phone data, monitoring employees, and protecting your children. A few spy phone vendors, even go a step further by promoting spy phone software as a way to catch cheating spouses. Regardless of the way spy phone software is advertised on and offline, the entire market would change once a vendor decides to start offering spy phone software with remote installation capabilities. The legal ramifications the company would incur would be far exceed any type of temporarily financial gain. They would essentially be driving a stake through the entire industry. There would no longer be any distinction between a rogue mobile virus/trojan developed by a hacker to wreck havoc on mobile phones throughout the world, and spy phone vendor selling spy phone software. Unless you are a government agency, or some sort of spy phone ninja / secret agent, I don’t think you’ll ever be able to get your hands on spy phone software with remote installation capabilities.
So what should you do if you cannot get physical access to the target phone? Definitely don’t waste your money on any type of spy phone software. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I know there are few sites out there claiming that you can remotely install spy phone software, or use other technologies such as Bluetooth. Do not believe what they advertise. If you do, its your loss.
My recommendation is that you either find a way to get access to the target phone, or you look for alternate ways to monitor them. For example, what two technology items are most used today? I’d say cell phones and computers. Which means, if you can’t get access to one, go for the other one. Any google search for “PC Spy Software” will turn up at least 40-50 different PC Spy vendors. The one I recommend is Sniper Spy. I’m a huge fan of Sniper Spy because I have yet to find any other PC Spy software that can compete feature by feature. This is not a Sniper Spy review, but I do want to mention that Sniper Spy has remote installation, it records keystrokes, takes screenshots of the remote PC, uploads the logs to a secure remote server, and best of all, has LIVE PC monitering. This means you can actually monitor a PC in real time. Think about it. Now you can watch your target’s PC in real time as they chat, surf the web, etc. Like I said, there are a lot of vendors out there, so please do your research, but if you want my opinion, no other PC Spy software can compete with Sniper Spy.
Now you know, that no matter what you read online, there is no way to install spy phone software remotely, so you will have to find other ways to get the information you want.
If you still have questions about remote installation, send me an email or leave a comment and I’ll do my best to clear things up.
