Mobile Spy (www.mobile-spy.net), has released the first monitoring app for Apple’s iPad. Although the iPad has only been on the market for a little under a month, Apple has managed to sell over 1 million units, in less than half the time it took Apple to sell the same number of iPhones. Analysts are predicting that Apple could sell as much as 5,000,000 iPads by the end of this year! With these kind of sales figures, it’s not a surprise that Mobile Spy decided to launch an iPad version of their popular cell monitoring product.
Similar to Mobile Spy’s iPhone monitoring app, their iPad version requires that the user jailbreaks their iPad. Although it sounds a bit dodgy, jailbreaking your iPad (or iPhone) is actually quite easy now, especially with the launch of programs such as Spirit. Once you jailbreak the iPad, you’ll need to install Mobile Spy directly on the iPad you want to monitor. This means that there is absolutely NO way to install Mobile Spy’s iPad software remotely, so if you don’t have access to the iPad, do not buy this app. The other requirement is that a data connection, either Wifi or 3G, is required in order to upload the logs that are recorded on the iPad.
Once Mobile Spy is installed and running, you won’t be required to do anything else. Mobile Spy will run in the background and record various events/activities, and then upload them to your secured Mobile Spy account, which you can access using any internet connected device that has a web browser.
Now that you know what is required to install Mobile Spy’s iPad spy software, here is what it can do.
Record Emails – This feature enables you to read all incoming and outgoing emails sent and/or received on the device. Full contents of each email are recorded, regardless if the email is immediately deleted once it’s read.
View Browser History - This feature will provide visibility into the browser history of the iPad user. This is actually a great feature for parents who want to make sure their children are not visiting any sites that you’ve warned them not to visit.
View Contacts - This feature will enable you to see all the contacts stored on the iPad. As new contacts are added, you’ll get to see all the details entered.

Since I don’t own an iPad, I really can’t say if this product is good or bad. Once I do purchase an iPad (I still can’t decide on the WiFi only or the 3G!), I’ll be sure to write a detailed review.
