iPad Spy App Coming Soon?
As the iPad gets close to its April 3rd shipping date, an increasing number of readers are asking if you’ll be able to monitor an iPad using an iPad spy app.
As most of you know, the iPad is essentially a real big iPhone/iPad (minus the camera), which means the iPad can run all the same apps. Moreover, the iPad has a data connection (WiFi / 3G) which is the most important feature required by a future iPad spy app. The reason is in order to install a spy app on either an iPhone or an upcoming iPad, the user will have to download the app via the iPad’s web browser. Without a data connection, you won’t be able to download the app and install it on the device. In addition, a data connection is required in order to transmit the recorded data.
So far, I can confirm that I’ve had two solid confirmations that an iPad spy app is in the works.
Although I’ve not been able to get definite confirmation on the feature, I have heard whispers that the first iPad spy app will have the following:
- GPS Tracking – This iPad spy app feature will enable you to monitor the movements of the iPad using stealth GPS tracking. Coordinates will be displayed using Google Maps which means you can zoom in, out, and perform a variety of other cool stuff.
- Read Emails – This iPad feature will give you visibility into each outgoing email sent from the iPad. Although I heard mixed reports on this one, it does sound like a feature that is possible since iPhone spy software has it.
- View Browser Activity – This will give you complete records of all websites visited by the user.
- View Bookmarks – Find out which websites they’ve bookmarked. Similar to being able to view browser activity, this iPad spy software feature could give you some insight into what they are doing and plans they are making.
- Grab & View Photos – Want to find out which photos are stored on their iPad? With this feature, you’ll be able to view the photos stored on the device.
Bottom line is that an iPad spy app is 100% in the works, and it will only be a matter of time until it’s released. My guess is you could possibly see the first iPad spy app within sometime between May – July, 2010. However, don’t hold me to this date. :)
